My  Artistic Experience

Among all the states that life and works  can offer, I am most intoxicated  in representing the inner state of  life phenomena;  at the time when I employ the mysterious emotion and calm reason to grasp the unpredictable fate, I comprehend the eternal charm of art from the dignity and nobleness of man. Painting is a kind of religious experience for me, it is not only to please man, but also acts as a kind of  meditation of appreciation of the beautiful and an aesthetic judgment to beauty.

At the early stage of my oil painting creation, I tried to grasp the vague  connotation of color and the rational extension of senses to crave for the philosophical image by canceling the limit color.  Besides, I extended special interest in the decoration beauty.  My maiden work of oil painting  Flowing (1980) was a typical attempt in that period;  my studies  in the same period were  mostly landscapes.  By sketching, I often gave myself away to the natural flowing of the feeling in form and color.  In my later period of painting creation,   I bent myself for a short period of time on formation, and the color of the works tended towards simplification, and at the same time I showed special interest  and experience in the surrealistic dreams. And before all the above were fully  illustrated in my creation, my travel to Tibet changed my favor towards pure beauty and the absurd dreams. As a result, my  feelings were merged into an unique  language that only portrait painting could represent, color, formation and style  withdrew behind the picture. Now only the human spirit and human personality have become the pillar for my painting and the subject that I care about.
